Martin Skrtel

Arsenal were hammered in the opening 20 minutes of the game against Liverpool and their title challenge took a massive blow when Liverpool ran riot in first half against Arsenal. Martin Skrtel opened the scoring for the home side and he quickly doubled the lead with 10 minutes and Liverpool were up and running with a 2-0 lead in opening 10 minutes. They kept pressing arsenal who in result melted under pressure and Liverpool created chance after chance and it took them 17th minute when they scored another to make it 3-0 as Sterling tapped the ball in.

Daniel Sturridge was a constant pain in Arsenal’s back four and he latched onto a great through ball by Coutinho and made it 4-0, game set and 3 point for Liverpool who will move to within 5 points off the leaders. Brendan Rodgers was delighted with the performance and score was 4-0 for Liverpool at halftime and Arsenal never showed anything in the first half to expect any comeback.

2nd Half started where the first left, Liverpool scored again and this time through Rahim Sterling who failed to finish off in first attempt but a rebound fell nicely for him which he slotted home to make it 5-0 for Liverpool. Steven Gerrard lunged into Ox-Chamberlain and gave away a penalty which Arteta converted with ease. but it was too little too late for the gunners.
